Use a contrasting wall colour to highlight heritage detailing

To ensure the original heritage detailing of a home is the feature of the property, we often use a contrasting colour on the walls and white (typically Vivid White) on the heritage detailing, decorative plaster and timber trims.

Using a contrasting colour on these surfaces creates clear definition between the walls and the elements we want to stand out.

Tranquil Retreat by Dulux is a great colour choice to create this effect. We used this colour on the walls of the original section of our Drummoyne Reno to make sure the period features remained the focal point of the home. Tranquil Retreat also tied in perfectly with black which featured throughout the home on doors, fireplaces & light fittings.

Eastern Beaches Painting provide quality painting solutions for homes with heritage detailing and period features. We love working on projects with architectural history and enjoy restoring decorative plaster and timber work to it’s former glory.
